the pretty boys pout

minutes]
In
this self-described “fashion” film which might also be characterized as a music
video, nothing of true importance really happens. Two beautiful male modes,
Alex Farrario and Nicholás Lorenzon with one girlfriend, Stefania Koessl,
tagging along spend a weekend on a farm in Argentina and the nearby woods.
The two pretty boys pout their way through
the shoot, posing often with a girl on the side or between them until the
inevitable: the boys bond, find each other even prettier than the girl, and
begin to hang out together for longer and longer periods of time, which makes
the girl pout in irritation, the pulsing rhythms of the Original Artyfacts
composition, “Paris, Texas” throbbing in the background.
Before the 4-minute shoot is even finished
it is clear to the woman that she no longer has a place in their new
relationship.
To
characterize this “film” as empty gives it more credit than it’s worth. Unless
you’re addicted to Hennes & Mauritz adds, there is absolutely no reason to
watch this short Argentinian work, pretty boys though they be.
Some publicist has hyped up a promotional
description which makes it almost sound as if there is some significance to
this piece: “This short film tells the story of three friends spending a
weekend in the woods where true feelings start to arise. Being away from home
and surrounded by nature and themselves, makes their true desires possible. In
the woods, alcohol, sexual encounters, fights, jealousy and love are part of
the same universe.”
